Post A couple of questions and some props.
Hi Chris (and board). Absolutely love the maps you produce, extremely inspirational.
I have three questions for your (at this point):

I was wondering, what software package(s) you do most of your work in? I love the continuity of your wall textures across the grid.
Secondly, I'm very interested in the Pirate Sea Cave maps you list as being posted in Dungeon. I've scoured my Dungeon magazine archive trying to find the map to no avail. Is this map something that you have in 150dpi or 300dpi and available for purchase/download?
Finally, I am working on creating some standardized tile-sets of my own and was curious about software or schema you might suggest using to manage the assets. Any suggestions?

Thanks for creating such amazing maps!

Sorry for the delayed reply!

I do 99% of my work in Adobe Photoshop. I learned it in college, and have been working with it ever since.

The Pirate Sea Caves Stronghold is owned by Wizards of the Coast, so I can't sell it. I'm allowed to display it in my portfolio, but that's about it. The map originally appeared as a two-page spread in Dungeon #106, page 54. I hope that helps!

I don't have any experience with cartography-specific software, so I really don't have any informed advice on how to work with it. I keep all of my map elements in layered Photoshop documents, so that I have them handy when I need them. Even so, I often have to use backup disks of my older projects to find some specific piece that I used previously and never archived separately. I'm terribly disorganized in that regard.

Thanks for posting! I'm honored that you enjoy my work!
